Join lobster fisherman Dave Hiltz, of Discovery Network's "Swords: Life on  the Line" and Innkeeper Diana Santospago from the Inn at Isle au Haut, for a 2 night/2 day adventure of lobster fishing, great food and hiking on Maine’s Isle au Haut -  6 miles out to sea and home to the most remote sector of Acadia National Park.  You will hop aboard the 37 foot F/V Sure Thing with Captain Dave in Stonington Maine, weave through myriad pristine islands, to land 30 minutes later on Isle au Haut and then drive 2 ½ miles to the Inn on the east side of the island. Settle in, sip some blueberry lemonade and relax, on the porch with appetizers while awaiting the 4 courses to follow with the ringing of the dinner bell.  Begin the next day with a 2 course breakfast and then, armed with a hearty packed lunch, join Captain Dave back aboard the boat for a day on the ocean fishing for lobster and crab. Don oil gear and gloves, help bait pockets and pick traps or just sit and soak up the surf sound and salt air.  At days end return to the Inn, freshen up, enjoy hors d' oeurves, your Captain's company and dishes prepared with freshly caught lobster and crab.  The next morning offers the option of another day on the water with more lobster fishing or just plain sightseeing. If you'd prefer terra firma, grab your lunch and an Inn bike and head out to experience the unmatched beauty of Acadia National Park's 18 miles of hiking trails, winding through fragrant spruce forest and along rocky shoreline. A gentler outing could include a guided tour with Island Naturalist, Kathie Fiveash, where you may stop to explore Boom Beach, take a dip in Long Pond or visit Duck Harbor and Robinson Point Light.  Either way be sure to drop by Black Dinah Chocolatiers and make your selections for a scrumptious 8 piece assortment of gourmet, island made confections compliments of the Inn at Isle au Haut. Stops at the Sea Urchin gift shop and the Island Store offer the opportunities to purchase souvenirs.  Return to the Inn and prepare for the next day’s departure to the mainland (and reality) back aboard the F/V Sure Thing.  This trip is for up to 4 people (two rooms at the Inn only).
