President's Message
- In a continuing quest to provide updated information about
- Safari Club International and our Northeast Michigan Chapter,
- I welcome you to the Northeast Michigan Safari Club
web-site.
August 21, 2007
Greetings!
It's hard to believe that August is here already; and the sheep hunters are gearing up to make it to
the top of the mountain to bring home something special for the trophy room.
The Safari Wish Deer Hunts planned for this autumn will be at a different location from previous
years. Jack Pines Safari will host the Chapter's two young hunters: Nathan Shotts and Nick
Brousseau. I am looking forward to getting better acquainted with them as I will be their guide while
they are at Jack Pines. It should be quite exciting!
I'm pleased to announce that our chapter has added more Safari Wish Hunts for this fall. Thanks to
Mike Wilmot for making arrangements for Matt Dziesinski who will be going to Alberta to hunt
black bear with Tuffy Ayers. Nick Stephan will be hunting antelope with Scott and Angie Denny in
Wyoming. Scott and Angie, as well as Tuffy, are great supporters of our efforts. Scott and Angie
will also be hosting a cow elk hunt for a young hunter that will be lucky enough to draw a tag. That
hunt will take place between Christmas and New Year's.
We held our Sponsors dinner at the Civic Center in June. Everyone in attendance had a good time
and the food was great, as always. Without our sponsors, we could not take on or complete the
number of projects we plan every year. Thanks again to all of you!
At the annual meeting held on June 1, Jim Wright, Scott Gauthier and Susan Tuohy were reelected.
Tom Jacobs and Gerald Lucas are newly elected members. We extend a big welcome to both and
we are looking forward to working with you.

Our Mission
SCI Is The World Leader In Protecting The Freedom To Hunt!
SCI is "First For Hunters"
SCI protects hunter's rights by actively lobbying on behalf of hunters at a state, provincial and
federal level. We are committed to passing the hunting tradition on to our youth through educational
programs, hunting experiences and wildlife conservation projects. The community of SCI hunters
promotes strong family values and teaches young hunter's about hunting and the role hunters play in
sustainable wildlife conservation. SCI chapters located around the world offer an excellent
opportunity for hunters to get involved and make a difference.
SCI Foundation funds and manages worldwide programs dedicated to wildlife conservation,
outdoor education and humanitarian services. Every member of SCI is a conservationist on many
levels. From their membership dollars that go to support the SCI Foundation's global activities, to
their local chapter projects to their support of federal and local game and fish agencies through
purchase of licenses and sporting equipment, members of SCI are conservationists of the best kind.
Please consider joining the hunting organization that is First for Hunters and works tirelessly to
protect the freedom to hunt. We are a non-profit organization that relies solely on our dedicated
volunteers, membership fees, fund raising events and charitable contributions to carry out the battle
to protect the freedom to hunt
