I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how pleased Donna and I are to be a part of your Northeast Michigan Chapter "family." As you know, we attend some number of Safari Club chapter events every year. I believe strongly in SCI's "chapter system," and remain convinced that our chapters are not only the grass roots but, truly, the heart and soul of the organization.

Since we try to attend several events annually we rarely repeat...but there are exceptions, and Northeast Michigan is definitely an exception! Your event is unusually well-organized, and although your chapter isn't large your event is always well-attended and draws people from across your region. You have "hand picked" a unique group of like-minded outfitters and other donors who, uniquely in our experience, look forward to your event not just as a "fundraiser" or "convention," but an opportunity to spend quality time with old friends.

The quality of the hunts and other auction items that you offer on a consistent basis far exceeds the offerings we customarily see at the local chapter level. This suggests to me that your donors believe in and support what your chapter is doing! Your Wayne Lee Memorial Safari Wish Hunt brings joy not only to very special children, but also to their families; your Michigan Heroes Hunt honors local veterans who have served in our current conflict. These are two great causes, but in addition to these highly visible programs your chapter continues to support hunting and conservation: The mission of Safari Club International, the organization that is truly "First for Hunters."

Donna and I are very proud to be a part of your unique organization. We believe in what you're doing and, like all of your other exhibitors and donors, we have made many friends that we look forward to seeing again. You can count on our continued support!

With best regards,

Craig Boddington

Death and rebirth are the continual, never ending cycles in the circle of life. There is a terrible beauty in the often violent struggle for life. The strong take what they need for their sustenance and the energy of once living things goes back to the earth to fuel life again in all its intricacies and magic. Without death there is no fuel hence no rejuvenation and no continuation of life. The process is complete within all stages of the birth, death and rebirth cycle of nature. Our part is interwoven within the natural world. As such, we are a part of the balance of nature. Our responsibility is to maintain that balance with the awareness of our impact and our actions upon the world around us.
The conservation efforts of The Safari Club International play an important part in readjusting the often fragile habitats and species that are impacted by increased human pressure. Our support and awareness are essential if we are to protect some of these valued species and restore their habitats to continue to sustain life. We need to stand back and see the big picture. To give is to receive. What we give today fuels the generations to come - the privilege to enjoy that which we take for granted - if not only for our own satisfaction but for future generations so that they might see the majesty of wildlife in the natural world.
Internationally known sculptor Donna Wilson has provided this representation of “The Nature of Things”. This beautiful bronze stands 14 inches high, is 10 inches long and 10 inches wide. The bronze has a muted patina that reflects the natural beauty of both the elk and the cougar. Don’t pass this opportunity to own a truly great piece of wildlife art!
